Beaches, temples, street food and that famous Thai smile — Thailand is Southeast Asia at its most welcoming. From buzzing Bangkok to the cool northern mountains and the island-dotted south, it’s one of the easiest, most rewarding countries to travel. We’ve been back more times than we can count.

When to go

November to February is the sweet spot — dry, sunny and a touch cooler. March–April get fiercely hot, and the wet season (May–Oct) brings heavy downpours, though the islands each have their own timing (see below).

Three regions, three trips
